  1. Can't show price and have to ask? That just sounds like.. some sort of scam… "ask for discount for something you do not ask price for" could literally add on price.

  2. I've been a craftsman myself since my father picked up his first tools in my Hands when I was around 10 years old. I work with everything, iron, wood, even plastic, I build simple cabinets and entire lighting systems and I can repair almost anything on a car if It's not exactly a Tesla, but I'll probably never master the skill that such masters have! And it's a shame! In Germany we still have a few manufacturers and masters who produce such things, but not for long anymore. Young people are almost only interested in their TikTok and Insta, they almost don't want to work properly anymore, many don't even work at all anymore in my Country thanks to the lush social system and for many, hardening iron or shaping wood is simply too much, they don't even understand it, our education System is so bad and because of all the these very noble and unfortunately often not very well paid professions are eliminated in few years! I wonder what our countries will look like in 50 years when something like this no longer exists.

(and if any German writes here that we have a shortage of people in the country, they should be careful, we don't have anything like that in the country, we have never had more people in the country in our intire History and never more unemployed people able to work in the last 35-40 years! Even if our Politics wants to make us know this!)

  3. Thank you for this amazing video! These works of art are incredible and I am thankful there are still talented craftsmen willing to put in the talent, time, and effort necessary to make such beautiful pieces! No wonder they are passed down from generation to generation, what a treasure to inherit!

  4. Idk why but as a westerner foreigner it feels a little weird that 洋服, western style clothes, was translated as "normal clothes"

  5. It was my understanding that tansu helped the household to pack up and move to town for the mandatory six months or so the shogun ordered to keep samurai families off balance so they wouldn't form alliances against him? Basically the classy version of plastic storage tubs or press board and fabric box furniture. 🤣 Once you arrived, they were stacked up and latched together to create furniture and stair cases. Very smart and gorgeous.

  6. I have noticed many Tansu have a "stepped" shape. Most of them in this shape are of antique age. Were Tansu like those used as the primary stairs in some homes or rooms??

  7. They’re absolutely stunning, videos like this make me want to become an apprentice, not yours though Ryotaro apologies 😉

  8. Wow, amazing woodwork! I love how shiny it is, and I especially liked that small one with the dragon that was shown at the end. It’s so beautiful! Thanks for the video!
