It has been raining endlessly since arrival and heavy fog has set in Day 3 as my Bicycle Tour begins. My planned 92km to Lake Toya, Nakatoya Campgrounds was cut short to 25km with all this rain I decided to end the day early at Lake Shikotsu Marrappu Campgrounds. First bicycle tourist Xavier, I met had late lunch and dinner Xavier providing some hot water (I didn’t have any propane gas at the time) for coffee and instant noodles in company with a local fisherman who kindly offered us some snacks giving me a space under a shelter from the rain next to Xavier’s tent. Very rainy grey and cloudy the Lake was still Beautiful. One of Hokkaido’s National Parks, Lake Shikotsu is one to visit and experience the beautiful scenes and water activities.
