My first day in Morelia and my friend Carlos is taking me on a traditional Mexican street food tour. We’re hitting up at all the best street food stands that locals serve handmade fresh every day. We’re also going to eat some of the best-pulled pork Carnitas in Michoacán, Mexico!

    One of the biggest things i appreciate about Mikey's videos is the elders passing down their skills/knowledge to younger generations.. so they in turn can keep the traditions/ values/ techniques going.. in a world of increasing technology it is so important to value those lessons from our elders – technology cannot replace the human spirit, soul and love that goes into the wonderful pureness of the foods we experience from these places that do it with just that- spirit, soul and love.

    I would respectfully disagree about the best carnitas in Mexico, Quiroga Michoacán has best carnitas in the world no doubt about it, I’m from Morelia and we have some great carnitas too but Quiroga is the place to be when it comes to carnitas!

    I hadn’t seen Mike react to authentic Mexican food and I have to say as a Latina, it made me so damn proud that he loved everything!!!! Also makes me miss Mexico so bad😭😭😭but just fyi border cities in the Rio Grande Valley have great Mexican food, from Barbacoa, menudo, pozole and tacos to churros, tres leches and all kinds of great food!!

    If you’re ever in Patzcuaro or anywhere in Michoacán you have to get Rompopè ice cream, that is an absolute must. It’s kinda like a Mexican egg nog, when you try it you’ll be at loss for words 😢

    Quiroga is the best place in Michoacan for carnitas! My first time there was like a magical journey to the best meat on the planet blow your mind life changing.
