Mt.Iwatono in Otsuki Japan is a beginners friendly hike that’s easily accessible from Tokyo. At 634 meters high, Mount Iwadono is the same height as the Tokyo Skytree. It sits a quick 10 minute bus ride from Otsuki Station, or a roughly 30 minute walk to the base of the trail. I went during Autumn and the colours from the trees were so beautiful, so I highly recommend hiking it in November! To note, some websites call the mountain Iwadono, and some call it Iwatono. Iwatonosan is how its pronounced in Japanese.
