They need a South American country at Epcot😊😊
as a radio broadcaster and mic enthusiast, the SM7B is far superior than most mics IMO. I think the SM7B is especially better for podcasts to get that broadcast sound.
I love Dick Tracy and Rocketeer and all those pulp movies, I would definitely love to see more love for them, even if it's not a ride.
I have to respectfully disagree with Eric about Mel Brooks movies being not classic. Particularly after the mention of Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, which (along with Silent Movie and To Be Or Not To Be) were sendups of classic movies and movie tropes. That's basically Brook's bread and butter. (Spaceballs, Men In Tights, High Anxiety, Dead and Loving It…) He's the Weird Al of cinema.
Switzerland has a Massive Modern Complex of Defense Bunkers and Tunnels to defend the Mountain pass invasion routes.
Look it up.
Storybook Land so good! Particularly at night.
My name is Craig Dennis i wish you a nice happy holiday season👍👍👍👍👍👍
TLDR: Maybe an episode, or series of episodes (either in a row or periodically sprinkled throughout), about extinct attractions or spaces?
I can't imagine a 300 ft orb in the area we have DCA in now… I can't imagine how that would have fit… At least there would have been a lot of shade. (Which is something they seem to be hell bent on avoiding in the last several decades.) Speaking of that park, for years I would stand in the entrance plaza and look towards DCA and I would get this weird dysphoria looking where the plaza used to end and the parking lot began. It was like the park was superimposed over the parking lot. Super wacky. I can't wait for May when I can go see the newly refreshed Tree House! I remember being really sad when they switched ti to Tarzan. Not because I had anything against Tarzan but… It just wasn't a good job, they did a disservice to both the old tree house and people who like Tarzan.
This is my favorite thing, always looking forward to these
Episodes on restaurants would be awesome!
Big word of the episode: PUGILISM
Tom: "I just show up." Dick Tracy is another movie that Disney has decided doesn't exist anymore.
I thought a lot of the unbuilt Disney attractions are interesting including the Secret, Swiss, Bobsled, Trainings, Facility.
Not that I haven’t enjoyed the topic, but I am very excited for what subjects are discussed next for the podcast.
Would love an episode of Tom just talking about Tokyo
Citricos is definitely bangin!
That gimmick at the end of muppet vision still works. I remember my first time it got me and when I took my son it got him.
I WILL NOT TOLERATE COSMIC RAYS SLANDER
I wonder why the matterhorn wasn't seen as a ride to bring to Walt Disney world back in the day.
Warren Beatty owns the rights to Dick Tracy and holds an iron grip over it. He does not want to let anyone else have it but doesnt want to give it up either because he thinks he is the character and no one else can portay him.
To legally retain ownership he has done two appearances as the character in specials that are just middle of night in character interviews on TCM. The dude is mental. This is why you'll never see the character until he dies.
I would be curious to see how the rocketeer would do if it was rereleased today… or "remade."
Love this series, keep them coming! I have watched and rewatched this series, I have learned so much new history about WDW. Thank you! 🎉❤🎉
Wasn't there a Greece pavillion planned? How about unplanned resorts such as Mediterranean and Asian hotels? Also, upcoming Universal Epic is building a Classic Monsters land with a Frankenstein's castle ride attraction.
A pavillion for India in Epcot is missing. India (south Asia) is a very different culture than China and Japan (east Asia).
In the book "Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look At Making the Magic Real" published in 1996, on page 75 there is a picture of a model of Disney Sea and a there is building in the American Waterfront area that looks a lot like ToT. It's even located in the area the current one is now. Yes, I did go THAT deep.
I find it funny how they were planning Geyser Mountain for Disneyland right before DCA opened as a way to balance the parks' attendance…then after DCA opened they realized they didn't need to do that at all lol.
Dick Tracy Crime Stoppers was announced for Disneyland too! That old newspaper article about the Disney Decade attractions coming to CA is fun to look back at.
Was there ever a planned Star Wars endor speeder attraction to be built in Tomorrowland similar to tron lightcycle run ?
I believe there was supposed to be a boat ride in the Italy Pavilion at Epcot as well. I'll always believe that every pavilion should have an attraction of some sort!
Also, I didn't know about that planned muppets America attraction…I think it's likely the Japanese would have fallen in love with the muppets once they were in the park.
I agree Pixar Pier is trash lol. They ruined the Victorian aesthetic of the pier with the mid century modern Incredibles house too.
I'm not sure this would be popular, but I'd like to see you guys do a podcast about lesser known extinct attractions and shows, especially those in foreign parks like Tokyo. They had so many short lived shows, parades etc that basically no one knows or talks about!
First I want to wish the whole WDWNT crew and all reading a very Happy Thanksgiving! I love this podcast! Sometimes I have to start and pause and come back to it …that whole work thing sometimes gets in the way 😂If you’ve already covered this please let me know which episode so I can go back and watch it again…have you talked about what was supposed to be a Muppets ride? I believe it was suppose to be like The Great Movie Ride? I remember this sounded like it would be amazing and I know the concept art was on your website a bit ago. Keep the episodes coming guys and Happy Holidays…can’t wait for the 50 hour marathon 😊👍♥️
Nice to see The Rocketeer get a mention. That's a movie that i think has grown in audience affection over time. It wasn't a hit at the time for two main reasons : firstly the overly retro art deco poster campaign which didn't sell the fun and adventure, and secondly because Disney had the bright idea of releasing it the week between Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves and Terminator 2, which were the two 800-pound box office gorillas that particular Summer.
🎉please put a shade over the window over the front window of the studio because the glass cabinet behind Tom reflects the traffic. It’s so distracting. Love the series!!! Never stop!!❤❤❤
