Our visit to Kamakhya Devi Mandir at Nilachal hills in Assam. In this video series we will give you a complete tour of kamakhya devi temple from Guwahati. We shall guide you how to reach kamakhya temple by the cheapest and easiest mode of transportation, walk you around the temple and show you the different parts of the temple complex while telling you the kamakhya temple story. Then we shall show you the detailed procedure of offering pooja at kamakhya mandir and finally take a tour of the kamakhya mandir museum. In this episode we start our journey from the city of Guwahati by bus and reach kamakhya mandir situated at Nilachal hills after change of vehicle from kamakhya gate bus stop. After reaching the drop-off point we walk up the stairs to the main temple complex. After reaching the temple complex we visit all the different areas in the complex and tell you several interesting facts about the kamakhya devi temple. The episode ends with us proceeding towards the main temple about to offer our pooja which will be continued in the next episode.

About kamakhya devi temple:
The Kamakhya Temple is a Sakti temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas of Saktism, namely, Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamalatmika. Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers.
Originally an autochthonous place of worship, the Kamakya Temple became identified with the state power when the Mleccha and then with the Pala kings of Kamarupa, and finally the Koch and the Ahoms patronised it. The Kalika Purana, written during the Pala rule, connected Naraka, the legitimizing progenitor of the Kamarupa kings, with the myth of the goddess Kamakhya representing the region and Kamarupa kingdom.
In July 2015, the Supreme Court of India transferred the administration of the Temple from the Kamakhya Debutter Board to the Bordeuri Samaj.
