Welcome aboard! On this two-day trip, we will explore the beauty of Mt. Fuji by touring both Shizuoka and Yamanashi Prefectures. With the convenience of the Tourist Pass, all transportation costs are covered, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the 360-degree experience of Mt. Fuji.
During this trip, we will visit several sightseeing spots that will provide us with a comprehensive understanding and experience of Mt. Fuji. Some of the highlights include:
Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha – is a significant Shinto shrine built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1604. It showcases the unique “Asama-zukuri” architectural style. Despite damage from earthquakes, the main shrine has been preserved since 1907. The Shrine is the head shrine of approximately 1,300 Sengen shrines in Japan, encompassing the land above the eighth station of Mount Fuji. This sacred territory represents the divine embodiment of the principal deity of Sengen Shrine.
Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka – It serves as a showcase for the cultural and natural significance of Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The centre offers exhibitions, interactive displays, and artifacts that delve into the mountain’s history, geology, and cultural impact. Visitors can learn about pilgrimage routes, climbing culture, volcanic activity, and the mountain’s influence on art and religion.
Lake Kawaguchi (transit) – is easily accessible and a popular tourist spot. Visitors can enjoy boat tours, kayaking, camping, or cycling. The area is renowned for hot springs and offers accommodation options from hotels to traditional inns.
Oshino Hakkai: is eight spring ponds located in Oshino Village next to Fujikawaguchiko Town. It was designated as a Japanese Natural Monument in 1934, and was registered as a part of component parts of Mount Fuji World Cultural Heritage in 2013. It known for their clear and pristine water.
Mishima skywalk – is Japan’s longest suspension bridge, spanning 400 meters. It offers pedestrians spectacular views of Mount Fuji and the picturesque Suruga Bay.
Finally, we will be staying at The Knot Yokohama, where the rooms are styled like cabins on a cruise liner, featuring designer furniture and fixtures that evoke a vintage American theme.
