Hawaiian Airlines operates 24 Airbus A330-200s for their long-haul flights across the Pacific, serving destinations as far away as Australia and the northeastern United States. They’re also used on busy routes to the west coast in conjunction with their smaller A321neos.
Hawaiian has also been seen as one of the best domestic airlines in the U.S., offering what they call authentic Hawaiian hospitality on board.
As the final stretch across the Pacific coming home from Japan, Hawaiian’s A330 seemed like it was worth trying out!

You truly are an avgeek! I have enjoyed every one of your videos on your Japan vacation.
Those seats look ugly, worn and dirty! Would need to be reupholstered.
I live in Honolulu so it’s always so nice to see people come here and review flights that I’ve taken too! Hawaiian is such a great airline! They really represent the aloha spirit well!
I flew on their A330 from Auckland to Hawaii in 2015 , even got conned into extra legroom for$180 which ended up being the exit door seats half way along plane, horrible aircraft, crap service and very outdated decor . Never again .
Thanks!
Alex, what do you think HA will pick to replace their ageing 717's that have such a high number of cycles? My money is on the 737 MAX 7.
I see The 330s from Hawaiian take off daily from San Diego. I read somewhere that they reputation for safety is pretty high
Just did HND-HNL this past SEP on HA in business class. The hard product was underwhelming and dated for sure, but the cabin crew was great.
Btw, the open-air terminal is soul-lifting……when the weather is nice. On one of my Hawaiian journeys, it rained all day, and the airport felt like a sodden, humid mess. This was the takeoff — my good friend was the captain. When I later asked about the rainstorm, he laughed and said, “well, how do you think we wash our planes?!” https://youtu.be/VwyCfHbvBks?si=qsu2138N2NwrmLK8
Flying Hawaiian this upcoming May!!!
wonderful flight review.
1:53 look how huge the A380 is compared to the 717
I have flown on the 717, 767 back in 2015 and the A330 up to 2017 mainly in the USA
12:40 Omg, that was a terrible landing you had there. Your plane bounced 3 times on landing in the video, why?….hahaha 😂😂😂😊

Bahamas Lynden Pindling airport of their capital for domestic flights uses open gallery on the ground with wooden roofs for boarding. It is name like Domestic terminal A. And it is cool!
Great video. Hawaiian Airlines is the best airline in USA 🤙
Wow a300-200 well I wish we had something like this here in Canada but you have to be in a Honolulu or elsewhere in Hawaii to have open air terminals
The sound of those Rolls Royce engines would have been enough for me….😁😁😁
5:19 You know the vibes of this Trent 700s on T/O 🔥🔥🔥.
New game….wheres Willdo…
Always flew in their A330’s when going to the west coast of the US but it’s clearly showing its age. Looking forward to the 787’s. SFO supposedly will be their first destination with the 787’s.
Thats a sweet plane. Handles well and I really like flying it. Flown it 2x.
Your "Canadian polite" is showing. That aircraft looked filthy.
Love the sounds of the RR engines 😍
I don't want to be that guy, but isn't the seat a bit dirty? I have Hawaian in high regards but that seat in particular didn't look very clean. Anyway, great video as usual Alex!
You guys you guys
PrimeAir (flown by another American carrier) also flies cargo A330s, but they’re not passenger. Not just Hawaiian and Delta
Every time I watch one of your videos, I get more and more jealous of what you’re able to do! Your videos are always engaging and filled with great audio and visuals! Thanks for showing us all these amazing things, Alex!
Yay can see my house in video lol
Economy seats are small. I don’t like the Hawaiian A330. I’m gonna stick to flying with Delta’s 767.
THAT was your meal? 🤦🏻♂️ Once upon a time HA had really good food and you didn’t have to pay for it. Last time I flew with them they were just beginning to phase out the 767 for the 330 and by that time they were going downhill in quality of food and legroom. I really used to like them.
Thank you for sharing your take off. I always tell friends and family to sit in the A&B left side of an aircraft for departure!! Yes, you get to see paradise as you leave!! And yes, you do first miss being there and then this makes you want to come back!!! Great views of the hotels and the beaches there with great memories!!@
