Shinsekai by Night – Osaka ᴴᴰ ● 新世界の夜 大阪



► Shinsekai is an old, colorful neighborhood in Osaka’s south downtown area. It was originally created as a “modern and futuristic area” in 1912, and in the beginning it was a huge success, but soon it lost its popularity and was left to decay for decades.

However, many of Shinsekai’s “Kushikatsu” (*an Osaka speciality; skewers of battered pork or beef you dip in a sligthly sweet, black vinegar sauce) shops remained, and as the area remains relatively untouched over the last 5-6 decades, it has yet again, regained its popularity, being a really interesting place for a genuine Osaka experience, to go with some kushikatsu, beer, followed by kushikatsu and more beer. – Enjoy!
