I took the Shinkansen, Japan’s world-class bullet train, from Hakata to Kumamoto. The view of Japan from the windows of the train at a top speed of 260 km/h was fantastic.
In Kumamoto, we had lunch at a popular ramen restaurant and enjoyed sightseeing at Kumamoto Castle.
It is only 30 minutes away from Hakata, so it is a great weekend day trip!
