Follow us to the beautiful mountains of Nikko, Japan! It’s been a few weeks since our trip, and Japan has already started warming up, but it was so refreshing to relax in a winter wonderland!

Hi! My name is Loretta, a girl from the U.S. who moved to Japan! I’m here on the MEXT scholarship program as a graduate student, studying to get a Masters in Business Administration. Here are some answers to common questions:

1. Do I Speak Japanese? Yep! I was taught formally in High School and have been speaking now for over 15 years.
2. What are you studying? I’m a student in a Japanese “Masters of Business Administration Program”
3. How old are you?: http://tinyurl.com/y7xqqse2
4. How did you get into Japanese school?: http://tinyurl.com/yb8yylch
5. What camera equipment do you use?: I film my videos with a Canon 60D using a Sigma 30mm Art Lens. I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 10 (with some help from photoshop).

  1. I've been there twice. Both just day trips! I want to go again, but see more next time (and stay overnight)

  2. Thank you for your videos. I have a question please or two or three. Can you PLEASE recommend several books for the person who wants to learn Japanese Grammar that do NOT contain Romaji? (from beginner to intermediate). Also, what method(s) do you recommend to learn Kanji? For example, many people highly recommend the book series, Remembering the Kanji. Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

  3. 日光は登山でよく利用しています。東京からのアクセスがよく奥多摩や高尾山のように人混みがなく、中禅寺湖を中心に日帰りできる山が多くあり展望もすばらしく天候も比較的安定しています。戦場ヶ原は起伏がないのでちょっとしたハイキングにもおすすめですね。

  4. 日本語の勉強頑張ってください。
    私はECCに行って英語の勉強してます。外国の人と意思疎通が図れると嬉しいですよね。

  5. I miss Japan. Even in rural area you can get first class food in Japan and makes me so hungry 🤤

  6. Umeboshi is one of my favorites. I get ume onigiri as a "dessert" from the izakaya I frequent. Natto is something else I like, but I don't get it very often. I'm glad he tried both of them.

Nikko always looks so beautiful. I'd like to go there someday and visit Lake Chuuzenji nearby.
