Hey guys! This is Sarah, a Japanese living in Tokyo.
In this video I am showing you some tips on how to enjoy a Japanese Izakaya, Japanese bars.

The Izakaya I went to is called Sakaba Shinatora.
The one I went to is located in Jiyugaoka, but they have branches near Meguro, Tokyo, Ebisu and Toyosu stations.

  1. I'm always amazed to see how the food seems sourced "locally" from Japan, and all wonderful combinations you can find. America has regional food, but its much more generalized and harder to find cooking that tries to make something special from ingredients in that area. I guess that's why Americans call it the melting pot. Food from everywhere and nowhere in particular. I think I would enjoy the Izakaya a little too much…

  2. I'd give this video a triple like if I could. Very entertaining, funny and full of bite-sized info-snacks. All the dishes look extremely tasty!
I love the concept of Izakaya and that the menu offers a whole lot of variety, depending on the region also. May it be Osaka, Tokyo or Niigata for example.

  3. Oishiso!by the way!meat-tofu=tofu in braised pork= ๆŽง่‚‰่ฑ†่…๏ผˆkonzoutofu)a delicacy of Chinese deviation!

  4. The corn and edamame tempura, Iโ€™ve never even heard of it. Wow interesting. Iโ€™ve got to remember this video as soon as japan opens up to tourists. Your so lucky lol

  5. This was great, thanks for sharing. If you can share the cost that would be useful..even if it changes, just to have an idea of what things cost.
