Whitehorse is the capital of northwest Canada’s Yukon territory. To the south are the basalt cliffs of Miles Canyon, site of a former gold rush town. From the canyon, the Yukon River Loop Trail winds north past the Whitehorse Fishway fish ladder toward the S.S. Klondike, a restored sternwheeler that once plied the Yukon River. North, the Takhini Hot Pools’ mineral springs offer views of the northern lights in winter.

  1. Dammit. I've lived all over Alaska but I wish I could visit Canada. Used to all the time before they made the border to strict ( unless you're a third world'er looking for handouts)

  2. Lmfao really the bottom 1/3 now gets hit with snow
    Climate changing
Now mudslides the city built in an ugly hole
Everywhere away from Whitehorse is nice for most part
Housing a mess expensive and crazy anything goes for renting
Downtown go crime happening more and more like any growing city
Older generation of residents would like government workers to leave cause they bring new bylaws

  3. Coming back to Calgary last time after visiting family and friends in Whitehorse (then Dawson) I cried. I didn’t want to leave. People love the Yukon because of the many lakes in the area, the low mountains and all those trees and fireweed, the fresh salmon right from the river, but mainly because of the people. The Yukon is such a stunning, wild place. Go once and you won't want to leave.

  4. I love whitehorse an d Yukon. We lived in United Keno for a time as i was the offjce manager for the mine. Very fond memories

  5. We spent four unforgettable days in Whitehorse. We did not have time to enjoy all this city and its wonderful surtoundings has to offer. Carcross ( Csribou Crossing) is also a place yo visit. We will gladly return. It is somewhat a bit expensive ( restaurants) but as everything is coming from outside, this is quite understandable. Even the old trees are skinny because the soil us too thin.Nevertheless, they nicely cover the sides of the surtounding mountains. Wonderful landscapes for photo lovers. Proud to be Canadian!
