伊豆ゲートウェイは、2017年5月1日に道の駅として開業され、2019年4月27日に大場川と狩野川の合流域に隣接して川の駅も設置されました。この川の駅は、万一の災害時には、災害復旧の拠点「防災ステーション」として、また平常時は狩野川の水辺の自然を活かした「憩いの場」として開設された施設です。
The roadside station in Kannami, at the entrance to the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, was named “Gateway” as a starting point for Izu trips and a gathering place for people and information about Izu. Izu Gateway opened as a roadside station on May 1, 2017, and a river station was also established on April 27, 2019 adjacent to the confluence of the Daibagawa River and Kanogawa River. This river station was established as a “disaster prevention station” as a base for disaster recovery in the event of a disaster, and as a “place of relaxation” during normal times, making use of the natural waterside of the Kanogawa River.
