Young people sometimes read Kichijoji as “George.” In front of the station, there is a huge arcade called Kichijoji Sunroad Shopping Street. It is a very energetic city and is full of people visiting for shopping. In addition to cafes and apparel shops, there is Inokashira Park, which is popular for dates. The bars and taverns are lively and a lot of fun to stroll around.
