  1. Nice tour! I've sailed the Maasdam twice around the Caribbean several years ago and your tour brought back many nice memories! We always did "any time dining" and made many wonderful friends! I spent lots of time in the crow's nest with a good book and a Pina Colada. I loved their library. I spent way too much time in the piano bar almost every night and had a great time. We've sailed many larger ships since then and of course there was more to see and do but I think I will a;way be nostalgic for Holland America's "small" laid back ships!! Thanks again!! BTW, did YOU enjoy it??

  2. Thank you so much for the tour!! We will travel on the Maasdam May 4, 2020 for the 14 day cruise. I am so excited!!

  3. I have been on the Maasdam twice and of all the Dam ships this is my favorite. The staff is wonderful, the food is out of this world and the cabins are very comfortable. I cannot wait to take another trip on this ship…the Veendam was the worst of all the ships. Stay away.

  4. Thanks for the tour you did a great job I like the size I have never been on a smaller ship I love the interior but would look nicer with a couple of glass elevators in the atrium and a bar at the bottom….

  5. Very good ship tour. I had Holland America cruise once. I loved their music shows. Thank you. Happy New Year.

  6. I was on the Maasdam in 1999. I remember the shore excursions, the food, my room, and a chocolate feast at midnight and line dancing. I have zero memory of anything I did on the ship itself which is really bizarre as I was 19. I don’t even remember the pool or being anywhere near it. I didn’t go anywhere but the dining room for food. I’m disappointed I can’t remember anything. I just know I liked it. I’m going on a Disney cruise next month. I hope this one sticks in my brain.

  7. We had the pleasure of cruising on the Maasdam twice….Of all the Dam ships this is our favorite..Stay away from the Zeideram.

  8. Thank you for your ship tour! We will be traveling on the Maasdam in April to Mexico. Love your low key style and sense of humor!

  9. This is where my mom and dad works but the ship named maasdam has been sold to a another company beacuse theres not that much people ride with it so the company decided to sell it to a another company and this is my favorite ship

  10. I looked at your 21 day cruise I like those longer cruises but there's one stop your cruise don't have and that is Skagway I been on many 7 day cruises to Alaska actually 2 back to back and Skagway has the White pass, and Yukon route train ride which I been on at least 6 times and it's a beautiful ride, and Skagway it's self has lots of shops, bars, and restaurants…. They have other excursions also…..

  11. The Maasdam was my FIRST cruise in 2008. The CREW is what stands out in my mind – soooo NICE and Excellent !! Wanted to sail on it again, but unfortunately sold before I could !

  12. This ship use to be owned by p&o Australia it was called the pacific aria and it is the best ship I have ever been on.

  13. This ship was by far my favorite of the fleet. The attention to detail and to the guests was amazing. A great cruise for the passenger who just wants to chill and meet other guests and share their cruising experience. I felt sad when I heard that the ship was sold to a French Line a while ago. The Zuiderdam was not my favorite. Too big, too long, too noisy and decor and upkeep of the ship was not what Holland America is known for.

  14. Brings back nice memories. I believe we sailed on the Maasdam four times in the Caribbean. Always in an outside cabin. Since then, we have been spoiled by veranda cabins on HAL’s newer and larger ships.

  15. Sailed on the maasdam on a 14 day Caribbean cruise back in 2007. I was 6 years old. Im now 21 and the memories are still so vivid. The attention to detail on a smaller ship is lovely, I can remember I made so many friends at the kids club. Sometimes I wonder where they are now? Lol
