  10. I heard a story about the word "mix mix" or halo halo in tagalog. Started at the time when japan occupied the philippines. One time a tired soldier ask for ice and corn. The filipino locals bring it to them and started mixing it. After that they put "minatamis na munggo", a boiled munggo beans with sugar in it. The locals tells to the japanese settlers called "mix mix" and so alot variation of mix mix begun which called now halo halo.
