Hi Rion! Iโm a new subscriber. Great videos! Kyoto looks amazing! ๐
Visited the same places last year and this video just recalled my memories. Arashiyama and Kiyomizu are so beautiful places, especially during red leave season. Just feel like now doubles the number of people compare with last year. I think around a month later during the red leave peak season should be even more crowded.
โคโคโค
IS IT A TOURIST PERIOD ? I GOING ENOSHIMA IN 3 WEEKS TIME.. WOULD IT BE CROWEDED ?
OMG I am going to kyoto next week and the amount of people is insane in kyoto even on weekdays ๐ i guess i need to wake up at 3am or 4am if i want actual quiet and no people for photograph lol…
Hi Rion, how did you pay for the drink on your watch? Was it Apple Pay or spica card on your phone and then to watch?
Oh my gosh, this is so crowded, wow! But thanks so much for this video! And wow! You met my friends there! They are so happy that they met you and are such big fans and so happy to be in your video! ๐ also, you definitely got a new follower now, your videos are amazing!
So many people Everywhere in the World ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ผ๐๐ต๏ธ. Bamboo is my favorite material.
If you want to a avoid massive crowds check out Kobe! Itโs just as great as the other places and less crowded except for the Chinatown, that was packed!
will you be coming back to kyoto / osaka any time soon? i'm curious to see the weather change
I'm going to Japan Kyoto in middle of January 2024, is it still many people there?
Thank you for your videos! I love Kyลto so much! I was there in September and this is the best time for me! Such a great city and you can go to so many cities thereโฆOsaka, Nara, Kobe, Himeji and so on. The people there are very kind, despite the tons and tons of tourists there. Together with Sapporoโฆmy favorite cities! ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐๐ป๐๐ป
I'm Native American, Navajo. My mother was forced to go to a residential school where they told her we were savage for not believing God in a Christian way. She was abused a lot there, she became an angry broken person. She took it out on me, and sent me to a residential orphanage to relive her trauma.
I don't hate Christians but I hate historically what they've done to my people and my family. I care about everyone. I spent my childhood institutionalized with other unloved kids with many "problems". I was one of them. I'm autistic.
I have a long, negative first hand experience with many Christian people. This is called religious trauma. And because it's trauma I have to try not to feel afraid it hurt whenever someone tells me they're Christian.
I have to be aware of my own bias. But I just want people to try to understand the reason.
My grandmother sent me to foster care when I was 11 after telling her I wasn't Christian and I'm gay.
Even now, I have Christians attacking me on my socials, saying I'm a liar. It literally destroyed my entire life and ironically it contributes to my trauma and my thinking that they aren't loving, accepting, people like they always say.
I hope you don't feel bad things towards autism or lgbt… I hope. I understand that American Christian culture is much different than most places and filled with extremists who turn hateful.
i get worried when rion eats white fish ๐ซฃ
25:00 It's funny I was thinking about the same thing when you mentioned the admission price. Must be making nice, steady $ with all the tourists
Your hair looks great!
This is perfect,, very detail and educational. I am visiting Kyoto next year and this video will be very helpful
i love these videos every time i go to japan i just go to every food spot rion goes too . haha always so good
Hi Rion, i hope you can show us how to ride a taxi from Kyoto Station to Kiyomizu-dera main gate. Thank you. learning so much from your videos. See you in Japan this November ๐
Ok, now I am not so looking forward to be in Kyoto for 4 days next week…๐
Is the train to Arashimaya from JR, because I will have a JR Pass then.
Also have a SUICA so it would be ok using it when needed.
I went to Kyoto earlier this year in march during cherry blossom season. Only spent 2 nights there. It was my least favorite place BECAUSE of the tourists. I know I was one too but I felt like it was wayyyy over crowded. Especially Kiyo Mizudera. I saw it EXACTLY as you showed it today. I couldnt enjoy it that much and because I was overwhelmed didnt feel like going to sannenzaka/ninnenzaka. Me and my fiancee were tired and sort of felt rushed because of the crowds. Beautiful area though…just too many people to really feel the spiritualness of the area.
We were going to head to Arashiyama too. The plan was to go to Kameoka and do the Hozugawa river boat tour that winds into arashiyama…unfortunately someone died in a boating accident the day before we were heading to Kameoka. Dissapointed by this, I cancelled going to arashiyama and instead went to Nara. I enjoyed Nara ALOT! Thanks to your video my Nara experience was amazing and the deer were fun! I think its the best decision we made.
I learned that you can see how crowded a area is on google maps. Most of the areas in Kyoto were "As busy as it gets" between 8am and 6pm…its INSANE. Kyoto is too condensed of a city for all of those ppl and they all converge in the desirable areas
Love seeing it through the cam Rion but unless the tourism numbers are somehow contained Im not sure I want to go back to Kyoto. I LOVE Osaka though! Ill be heading to Western side of Japan on next trip!
Going in a few weeks! I can't wait. ^_^
I was in Kyoto about 3 weeks ago. I took the rickshaw tour through the bamboo forest, would highly recommend it as you really do beat the tourist crowds with the special path through the forest and get to experience the calm of the forest by yourself. Also the rickshaw driver was great and took lots of photos of the trip and as I took the 1 hour trip we also went out into the countryside a little and saw a few more off the beaten track things.
ahh the memories are all coming back…was just there 4 weeks ago…only regret is was drinking coffee..so i was afraid to eat…coffee is a laxitive…so i regret not eating the burgers at the burger place and the desserts at the place right outside the station……
the beef tongue at the palce right outside the bamboo forest enterance was so good
I wonder hoe it's going to be in Nov 10-24th lol thats when I'm going and I'm going to Kyoto for a couple days.
