Jewelry Ice is a unique natural phenomenon you can see in the Otsu Coast of Toyokoro Town. It usually occurs from mid-January to late February. Ice from the frozen Tokachigawa River breaks up and flows into the ocean, where they get shaped by the waves before washing up on the shore. Every piece of ice is unique, and they sparkle like gemstones under the sun. The best time to go and see it is during the sunrise on very cold days. You might also get to see sea smoke rising from the ocean waters.
