My day trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima took all day. It was 90 minutes each way and an extra hour to get to Miyajima and back. This trip could’ve been done from Osaka as well, but I had some extra time when I was in Kyoto. It was well worth the trip. But I also can see staying in that area for a few days as another option to really get a chance to see really Miyajima island and more of the city. My goal was to go to the island, try Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and visit the Peace Park and Dome.
