I used to live 5.5 years in Singapore and found this is the perfect destination to visit first in Asia. Singapore provides you a lot of different impressions that you else would have to collect on trips to separate countries. As most likely, you are traveling from far to Asia, it’s a good choice to stay for a few days in Singapore, before proceeding to your ultimate destination in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, India, Philippines or wherever you want to go for your holidays. Singapore is a unique kind of country that offers you some of the best things from all over Asia for your first days on this amazing continent. That’s why I call Singapore “The Asia for Beginners”.

  1. The foods are safe because the water used to prepare and cook them is safe. People rarely get food poisoning in Singapore due to the strict regulations on food safety. All food handlers are mandated to attend and pass a food handling course. The premises for preparing and serving food must pass stringent inspection on a regular basis, regardless of whether it's a hawker stall or hotel. Due to the high level of food hygiene, Singaporeans tend to have a weaker stomach when they vacation in other asian cities.

  2. I lived in Singapore in early 2000s about 20 years ago now. How much it has changed since then. Unbelievable. You showed map of metro lines network and buildings with boats inside.

  3. Well I did not know how attractive Singapore is even if I am an Asian
Your well-organized explanation is really making us want to visit Singapore 👍
I hope you someday visit Seoul and enjoy day and night of Seoul as well😊💕

  4. I loved Singapore! It’s such a cool multicultural city and as you said, it is a great mix between modern and traditional, it’s safe & has lot to offer. Perfect place for introduction to Asia. I think we didn’t spent enough time there. Would love to go back one day. Excellent video (as we’re already used from you 😉😀).

  5. Woooooooow, du inspirierst uns mit Deinen seehr eindrückliche und informativen Videoerfahrungen, Danke dass Du Dir so viel Mühe gibst 💜💜💚💛🧡

  6. My beginner Asian city was Hong Kong. It was very familiar to me because I live in California now. But I would love to visit Singapore because it is more akin to my Southeast Asian roots (I’m Filipino). My parents visited and they loved it!

  7. I’ve noted that in a number of hawker centers they’ve installed a central source ice-maker that the hawkers in the centre obtain their ice blocks from.
Edit: I used to live in Singapore more than 30 yrs ago but do re-visit occasionally and the transformation of the cityscape makes me feel like a stranger in a new town👍😄

  8. Thanks for giving Singapore so much credit. I'm a Singaporean planning to go to Switzerland soon
