Take this short excursion inside Mule Mountain – looming over Bisbee, Arizona – and visit an underground portion of the historic Queen Mine, a place that operated for nearly 100 years, with billions of pounds of copper and millions of ounces of gold and silver extracted. Guests ride on carts along a small railroad track, venturing 1,500 feet into the mine. There, guides share the history of mining and the area and what it was like to work in these mines. This trip was in May 2022. The actual tours last about an hour. It’s a highly recommended activity for any visitor to Bisbee, a unique city with city an eclectic, quirky blend of hippy-ish counter-culture to cosmic cowboy.
