Video is unfiltered, straight from the camera. Audio levels were raised in post.
Was planning on color grading this video, but upon reviewing the footage, I was surprisingly happy with the colors and exposure out of camera! The image could use a bit of noise reduction here and there, but otherwise it looks pretty damn good! Unfortunately the "Video Boost" & "Night Sight Video" features are not present on the camera, and won't be available until December at the earliest. From what I understand Google will alter the video on their servers so it will require extra post processing time. So for longer videos like this, not sure how many hours/days it would take to process a single video, or if there will be a restriction on video length 😅 I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
48:11 – Used the new on phone Pixel "Audio Eraser" to remove about 2 minutes of background copyright music, but retain the ambient noise of the crowd. It did an okay job, but you can still kinda of tell something is different with the sound quality.
Will try to do a few more videos with some color grading / noise reduction, and without jumping between cameras ✌🏼

I'm from Manila and I just love Japan. I truly enjoy watching your walking tours while following you around in Google maps (satellite view). Gets my bearings right and makes me more familiar with the area. Very helpful for when we go back to Japan next time. More power to you.

I just got my 8 pro too, I'm really excited for night sight video and video boost to eventually come out. Maybe I'll get to try it out in Japan myself next year :p

Viewed on a Uhd TV, very good color but when you are walking it is clearly out of focus, when you are stationary it seems to improve.
One small irritation I find with all phone videos is, if a person walks in front, it pulls focus onto them but I am looking up ahead, as I have no interest in this person.
Lovely. The sound as you would expect is like noisy porridge but the visuals are gorgeous 🤩 at least insofar as the colour rendition etc goes. Definitely some frame rate drops when panning! I don’t mind 4K30 provided it actually stays at 30 haha
Were the walking parts shot using a mobile gimbal ?
20 hours after upload and it still doesn't trigger HDR for me.

My son and I just watched the video from a couple years ago that follows this same route. It's nice to see life breathing back into a lot of the places that looked like ghost towns back then. Beautiful video, gorgeous colors and details.
Insane that this came from a phone, but how about the heat?. I remember poor pixel 7 dying on that stream a couple months ago.

Looks great. I currently have a Pixel 6a but might get the 8 Pro when the price drops a little. I always bring several cameras with me when I go to Japan but maybe the 8 Pro will allow me to cut down a little. Did you use a gimbal by any chance or just handheld?

Pretty decent quality. Is it me or did they enhance the exposure as it seems to be brighter than other night videos. Can't imagine shibuya being that much brighter than shinjuku!
Still can't believe this is from a smartphone. I'm excited to get my hands on my Pro 8 in a few days. Still suffering from the same issues from the Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro. Sort of frustrating but still excited about the upcoming video features rumoured to be available in November.

That audio eraser feature would be great for walker videos. The video here looks great. Very bright , sharp and well stabilized.

Certainly, a man of your technical ability would have Squeezed everything out of this phone camera.
But from the reviews i've seen haven't been great. It appears the colour accuracies And Image Detail is lacking. I know it's filmed in 4k, but it looks like it's 1080p on my oled. And certainly, post processing will certainly improve. The presentation.
But having said that i'm planning to make this my next phone.

iPhone 15 Pro Max has better video quality and stabilization.
Great video. I'm amazed by how little the FLARES (UFO FLARES) are. Still noticeable but very much less than the iPhone.
