Japanese Curry: GO GO Curry vs. CoCo Curry



What is the better Curry spot, Go Go curry or CoCo curry? After much debate and arguing over the years on the best Japanese curry between both these places. It was about time we settled this once and for all with a curry challenge🥄🍛.

We hit the streets of Tokyo, going around with my good friend Matt from Super Cheap Guides to eat some delicious Japanese curry at both of our favorite spots. In this Canadian vs. British food showdown, the challenge here is Matt will finally have Go Go Curry for the first time ever.     Tried both on my last trip to japan, def GOGO curry. Different type of curry tho, gogo is a thick, strong flavour and gravy like curry type while coco is more mild, creamy and sauce like curry type. Most ppl love coco because it is a more common type of curry.

    Curry is like a personal journey into flavour. I prefer my Japanese curry to be a little spicy. I should give these two places a try!

    Tried NY's GoGo for the first time today. First time trying Japanese curry at all. I have to say, it's massively inferior to Indian curries. Less flavor, spices, aroma. Has a sort of TV dinner quality to it.

    I’ve been a huge fan of coco curry but I’m not gonna lie that I like go go curry better! Tried go go last week for the first time in my life (I was born and grew up in Japan lol) and it blew my mind! Roux is perfect and you can go for more protein options like katsu, eggs, and shrimps. They are all wonderfully cooked. Good video! Gave it a thumbs up!

    I lived in Japan for a few years and fell in love with CoCo Curry. With that being said, 15 years later I’m home in Houston craving some curry and just found out we have a brand new GoGo Curry, I was skeptical and came across this video researching. Thanks for insight on this chain
