Last year I went on a foodie adventure through Japan. My first stop was the city of Ichinoseki in Iwate Prefecture. It’s about three hours north of Tokyo.

This is a ceremonial, ritual dinner we had with local government and business leaders. The highlight was the Iwate wagyu beef, cooking on a table top shabu shabu grill.

During my trip I visited a few areas of the country recognized by Savor Japan ( as having special culinary significance.
