Design Concept
LAB Beyond The Blue Wall
Conception designed an airport restaurant with a beer brewery, one of the few in the world, as a new restaurant for the client,
Helios Brewery.
We aim to create an eating and drinking space that will attract visitors to the airport, regardless of age or nationality,
including those from within and outside of the prefecture.
The keywords for this project are “Okinawa’s sea and sky” and “thoughts for the future.
Blue is one of the colors that symbolize Okinawa.
The clear, wide ocean that surrounds Okinawa has various expressions of “blue,” from deep azure to beautiful emerald
blue.
The sky surrounding Okinawa is a brilliant blue, and at dusk, the combination of blue and the color of the sun makes
the colors of the sunset come into clear relief. The sky is a vivid blue color.
Helios Brewery’s corporate philosophy is “brewing sake that will last for a hundred years.
Conception wanted to express the dedication to sake brewing (i.e., intense research) that goes into it as a “near-future research
laboratory.
The blue color that emerges when titanium is heated.
The color is exactly like the “sea and sky of Okinawa” and the “futuristic laboratory”. It is a color suitable for expressing
a “futuristic research institute.
Conception decided to call this blue “Helios Blue.
