The iconic arrival into San Diego CA is even better when it’s performed by the mighty Boeing 757-351! This concluded my 4th recorded segment on this particular A/C, N587NW. It actually performed my very last flight on Northwest Airlines back in January 2010–just days before the merger with Delta Air Lines was completed. Today’s flight was a very enjoyable one from start to finish, and I am so glad that these magnificent aircraft are still such an important part of DL’s short to medium haul fleet. This particular airplane is also the first 75Y in the fleet to receive the newest Wi-Fi experience (which worked very well). The interior is still in pretty good shape, even though many of the cabin elements date back to when this plane was starting its service life way back with NW back in 2002. It’s wonderful knowing that DL plans for these old workhorses to remain in service to 2030 or beyond!
