Ancient curses, river pirates, haunted mausoleums above the river, and mansions over 150 years old, where former residents, long dead, refuse to leave. I am intrigued by legends, and the Ohio River, along the southern part of Indiana, is filled with them!
Many places you pass every day, and don’t give a second thought, are the setting for many old, and interesting stories. And if you ask local people, they will tell you incredible tales, handed down for generations, that are in no library or internet database!
Come along for a road trip, starting at Evansville, Indiana, ending at Vevay, and exploring legends everywhere in between!

Thank you for the video, Roger
Great work my friend
A lot of this isn't actually "Southern Indiana" but it's surrounding areas. Still interesting.
Thanks Roger. I know what I’m watching while i drink my coffee!
You should look into and include Hill Forest in Aurora, IN.
Hi Roger. You are such a great storyteller, and your timing just before Halloween was fun. ❤️
You’re the best Roger. Thank you!
Thank you soooooo much now I finally have something fun to go do kind sir indubitably 🤘🏽 happy Sunday
Good video. Really enjoyed it.
The millstone crash site is probably the coldest feeling place I have ever visited outside of the castle dungeon in Qarwick England.
Old gym in cannelton was the temp morgue for the plane crash victims. That place is rough too.
I have a few experiences that I cannot explain.
-One night I was driving down 252 from Trafalgar after my shift ended. I remember the night being foggy because a bicyclist appeared out from the fog underneath a street light in my lane. I nearly tipped my car trying to avoid them. I remember looking out of passenger window as I swerve and noticed the person was translucent. After I got my car under control I slowed down, wondering if I should drive back to see if I did hit someone. I ended up speeding out of there and taking a round about way home in case something decided to follow me.
-Another time I was working in a pizza restaurant in Nashville, In. I heard from a coworker that the place was haunted by a little girl. I was doing dishes when I said to myself "This place is not haunted." Suddenly, the stable wine glass holder that was stationed above the dish area fell and smacked into my head. It was as if something lifted it just enough off it's ledge to slide off. I put the holder back where it belonged and said "Fine, I apologize for not believing."
-the restaurant I worked at the most in Nashville always unsettled me just a bit. almost like something was there, watching us work. the feeling gets worse in the basement where you can crawl under the building.
-the most recent experience I had was in the Portland Arch nature preserve in northernish Indiana. I was walking down the river and decided to go back, only to see a rose sticking out of the sand that wasn't there before. I looked at it and I saw another rose downriver, one that I didn't see even though my boot print was right beside it. I'm standing there wondering what is going one when I decide to take a pic. After the pic, something was thrown at me and the weeds behind me. I quickly walked out of there, my pack in one hand and a knife in the other until I got back to my car and locked the doors. I was the only car in the lot.
For 18 years I lived near the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, in a house built by renowned engineer Reuben Wells. (He designed the steam locomotive that pushed trains up Madison Hill in Madison, Indiana, and used his earnings to build my old house.) I wrote about the massive amount of paranormal activity that happened to me and my late husband there in a book titled The Spook, available from Amazon. The activity continued when I moved to New Albany, and it occasionally happens now that I’ve moved to Florida.

It would be awesome if you could put out a video once a week until Halloween. More haunted places. I know its alot of work driving to all these locations and learning and telling the stories and then editing. I enjoy all your videos. I'm from Lawrence County and have family all over Southern Indiana, so I'm very familiar with a lot of the places you talk about.
Thank you Roger for another interesting and fun video.
I know that you have mentioned the Scott County history museum before. We have had strange experiences there.
Also, the West Baden hotel in French Lick, we experienced odd occurrences there. At West Baden, we witnessed a door slowly open and close on its own, and a water faucet handle turning.
My brother saw ghosts with his friends, a German POW camp WW2 officers became a Jewish camp after the warThe ghost floated threw a wall, Muskoka Ontario
WOW,,you are fast,,don,t type or spell much when you are a gold smith ,,retired
Now I'm in a 👻 spooky fall 🍂🍁 mood. I recall the words of the apostle Paul ' to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord' that is if you've made the arrangements
My eyes are not bad, Computer took my job away,,,I was a model maker,,Every thing hand made ,perfect,,did one solitare ,,the owner boss said he sold 5000 pieces 1 ct stones
Excellent, yes I’m up for more ghost stories. Can’t wait to share with my kids. Another Great video Roger ☺️👍💕
🎉great video!
I was born & raised in Indianapolis. My favorite part of the state was everything south of Marion County. Interesting videos. 👍🏻
Great collection of haunted stories (born in Evansville 1940). Beautiful river mansions that I still remember from my youth along the Evansville river front drive.
Fascinating video. I've heard of some of the areas, but not all. I live your storytelling. My dad used to tell us a story whenever we visited Versailles State Park. On the shores of the lake, you can see a cliff across the way…the edge of a cemetery. He passed down a story from his grandfather. He told of a doctor who was caught digging up bodies. He was chased off the cliff in horse and buggy, to his death. A little more to this story but this is the scary jest of it. Have you heard of that in your travels?
Loved the stories. Thanks for sharing
Another great video Roger! This is the time of year people love those spooky scary stories. Love your storytelling. It’s a gift. I grew up hearing about haunted hollow at Mauckport.
Before us there were others after us there Will be something else how do we understand it all
That was wonderful. Thank you. Your story's are so good that sometimes I have to watch them twice to make sure i didn't miss anything.
Mr. this place is haunted kek I love it 🤣🤣🤣
Mr.Roger , not sure just how much information is out there but id love to see a video about the german spies that were in evansville during WW2. I know there are a few boos writen about it, but not sure about anything else
What's now theThe Howard steamboat museum which was the Howard's home is probably my favorite home in southern Indiana/mansion. But it's not claimed to be haunted to my knowledge.
Great timing for Halloween! But watching your videos makes me sad in a way – If Hollywood had 1/10th the talent that you do, what great films we'd have. If only…Maybe you could go to Hollywood and teach them how to Write, film and edit. Great content and always very well scripted. Honestly If the local movie theaters gave me free tickets to every film playing, I'd rather watch your channel every time.
“The upstairs was a totally different story” 😅😅😅
Great video!
Off the subject but have you ever done a video on Jungle Park the old indy track near terre haute. We live in Fort Wayne and our daughter goes to Indiana state university and this past weekend was her fall break and on our way back home we passed by it(don't care for all that construction around indy right now so we take a longer way to get home) my wife googled it and we.both where floored to find out what it was.
Expect to be haunted by an arrest record and time in jail..I actually laughed out loud..that was a great line, in a great story..all of these were fantastic..Thanks for sharing!
