As part of its repositioning cruise to Japan, the Norwegian Jewel recently concluded its summer program in Alaska.
Besides calling at ports in Alaska and the Asian country, the transpacific cruise sails to Tokyo for 16 nights.
Before crossing the Pacific Ocean, the Norwegian Cruise Line ship will depart Seattle on Oct. 3 for Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Seward, Alaska.
Prior to its scheduled Oct. 18 arrival in Tokyo, the Norwegian Jewel visits Hakodate and Sendai.
That day also marks the beginning of the ship’s winter season in the Far East and Southeast Asia.
A series of nine- to 12-night cruises allow participants to explore many destinations in both regions, including Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Upon returning to North America, the Norwegian Jewel will travel to Japan and South Korea on three exclusive itineraries.
The ten-night voyage will sail from March 2024 to June 2024, stopping at Nagoya, Naha, Amani Island, Incheon, Cheju, Nagasaki, Kochi, and more.
A one-way Alaska cruise is scheduled for the Jewel after crossing the Pacific again this summer.
In 2024, the cruise itineraries will run between late April and late October between Seward and Vancouver, in Canada.
Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany built the Norwegian Jewel as the lead vessel in the Jewel Class in 2005.
Two hundred and forty passengers can board the 93,000-ton vessel, which is equipped with ten dining venues, 13 bars, a casino, a spa, a swimming pool, and more.
A major renovation took place in 2018 to revamp the Jewel’s cabins, public areas, and its interior, with new artwork, carpets, upholstered furnishings, and more.
