Since I came to Japan, my favorite place to hangout and meet people has been and probably always will be Shimokitazawa’s Shisha Cafe. With it’s cozy close seating, it’s almost impossible to go there and not spark a conversation with someone sitting next to you. Even if you are not a fan of shisha or hookah, the drinks are reasonably priced and if you are interested in practicing Japanese!

There is also many events held by the Shisha cafe, including club events.
Check out there facebook or website for more info.

  1. Hey, Tyler….been watching your videos, great recommendations and places to check out. We're from the UK; myself and 5 friends are nearly finished with our first week in Tokyo and the stuff you suggested checking out was cool. We will be traveling all around Japan for another two weeks.

  2. This is still one of my favorite videos. 😀 I think that's because I really do love this place.

So What are your favorite places to meet people in Japan? Or what kind of places do you like to meet people at?

    -Tyler

  3. To be honest, when you were talking with Tiger San, I was waiting for a translation of your question and his answer.
