It is best known for its well preserved baroque center and medieval castle called The Old Town (Stari Grad) – with which we’ll end our walk. Varaždin is also noted for being one of the most livable cities in Croatia – rather small but full of activities and amenities. A stress-free easy-living town, perfect for cycling and walking. Varaždin is also a very desirable tourist destination offering many events, among which the most famous ones are: Špancirfest – the summer street festival and the autumn music festival – Varaždin Baroque Evenings celebrating classical music and the town’s baroque heritage.
