Indonesia is an amazing country, with so many levels of adventure on every corner, and we have some unfinished business with a certain part of Indonesia. We had to leave Sulawesi, Indonesia…

  1. The island of Sulawesi is very large, not just Makassar or South Sulawesi province which you just visited, there is still Southeast Sulawesi which is famous for the Wakatobi sea tourist attraction, apart from Wakatobi there are many other tourist attractions. In North Sulawesi, Bunaken is also famous for its sea tourism, there are many foreign tourists there. North Sulawesi is also famous for culinary tourism, including extreme culinary tourism in the city of Manado, cultural tourism and natural tourism are also very numerous there. Manado is one of the international tourist destinations besides Bali, Lombok. You can see and enjoy the atmosphere of Manado while trying various culinary delights, the atmosphere is different compared to other islands in Indonesia, come on… visit Manado

  2. while you are in Surabaya, maybe i can suggest the nearest Bakmi GM and Solaria at Tunjungan Plaza, walk a bit to jalan Tunjungan you might enjoy some nice cafes, best time in the evening, i recommend coffee "Lain hati" in front of hotel majapahit, for 1 euro i think the coffee is one of the best in town, you can enjoy some foods, snacks or coffee while sitting there at the edge of the road watching peoples passing by, last recommendation Igor cafe at jalan Bliton maybe 10 or less than 15 minutes from your hotel, for 5-6 euro you can get authentic western foods, they also provide excellent pastry too approved by my Dad : ) He is irish like you two guys, please take care and hope you enjoy your trip

  3. Probably java island more safe and friendly for you both 😁 keep moving to explor indonesia, and enjoy your journey.

Anyway Solaria and bakmi GM is also my favorite 👌

  4. Woah, 3 mil. Rupiah? Now that's just not right. That's a straight robbery there. Definitely a no no. Hmmm, yeah. You guys definitely needs some solid plannings and research for such trip. If anything, I can only suggest to you guys to learn some basic Indonesians to negotiate some terms better, lessening the chance for scams, and navigating around the locals better in general. I can only hope for the best for the trip. Cheers!

  5. Saya orang sulawesi selatan, saya kecewa dan malu kalau turis2 asing yang akan mempromosikan daerah kita malah kita menipu mereka…semoga Luke dan Naomi memaafkan dan kembali berpetualang ke sulawesi

  6. I suggest you could search and hire a local guide before you go to other islands outside java and bali, not every place are safe for tourists tho and to prevent something like this happen again, so sorry you’ve got to experience something like that😢

  7. Its too bad you didn't have the chance to go to north sulawesi, the land of the Minahasa people with its capital city Menado that has people calling us Menadonese instead. The majority are Christians, btw. And some of the food was considered best in the world like its fried chicken name best by top world chefs several times and the resort areas much more interesting than in southern sulawesi

  8. There's a possible if you can explain how did you guys get a year Visa ? I appreciated if u can explain

  9. Good and wonder for Surabaya city.l love surabaya.good lucky for two mad explored

  10. Si;awesi is big, you only went to south Sulawesi right? there are north, west and central, tenggara sulawesi.

  11. It's a shame you had to flee Sulawesi. Sulawesi isn't perfect, but you shouldn't ruin your "delicious meal" because of this "one" (or maybe two) bad side dish. There were many, many others who made it traveled the island from south to north long before you came. If they could make it, I'm sure you could too. Most of them could make it successfully because they connected themself with the locals if not all. If you prefer doing things all your own way, you could also ask for suggestions or recommendations from your viewers/followers here, that's what they're here for.
Anyway, if you feel more comfortable and prefer to stay in Java then just do it even though I'm sure many of your subscribers/followers were waiting for your upcoming Sulawesi videos. Thank you for sharing the video. In the meantime, look up Sam Indowild, he's got many fantastic Sulawesi videos and he's still there actually.
Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy Indonesia.

  12. Saya turut prihatin atas kejadian yg anda alami.

  13. If you at surabaya.. you can call *cak Dave*,He lives at surabaya since a child…
    He can speak javanese fluently..
He also youtuber with many viewers like you too..
    He is a australian..

  14. dont worry sir, you can explore more in java. prepare your journey there a lot of beautiful place around java, from beach to volcano mountain. 😀 in my opinion you can google translate if you want order something.

  15. So sad to hear the situation, please please be carefull, the more exotic the place the more dangerous the creatures, It is a whole different situation between Java and other Island. The development of the transportation, education, behaviour, and norms of the people in each Island are things that need to be researched more. Probably it is better to use tour guide with good review rather than wandering alone. Asking other fellow foreigner youtubers who ever visit the area is also a good idea. I hope you still can enjoy being in Indonesia. Be safe, good luck, and wish both of you the best.

  16. Hopefully your first unpleasant experience in Sulawesi doesn't deter you from trying other adventures there. Every trip will definitely encounter things that are fun and not. Maybe you are currently experiencing bad things in Sulawesi. Hopefully it will be a lesson for all of us and hopefully your next journey will always be safe and without obstacles.

If I could give you a suggestion, maybe you could try contacting Sam, a foreign tourist from UK who has been in Indonesia for almost 10 years, and in the last 3 years he started exploring Indonesia on his motorbike. He is also experienced with the nature of Sulawesi and its people, maybe you can ask for his help if one day both of you decide to try your luck again in Sulawesi. Fyi, Sam also makes a YouTube vlog about his travels in Indonesia. His YT channel, SAM INDOWILD. I think it would be interesting to see you collaborate together.

  17. Dear my lovely youtuber Luke and Naomi..just suggestion only..please come/contact Dinas Pariwisata/Goverment Tourist Departement in every province Indonesia..you can type/search by google 'Dinas Pariwisata Makasar' if you have any difficulty to search any information in Makassar..or you can see youtuber Kristian Hansen as reference..He explore Indonesia from Sabang/Aceh to Merauke/Papua by motorbike as reference..He is in Sulawesi now..He already explored indonesia for 6 months from 1 year planning become estimate 3-4 years to complete..he also get tips and information from Dinas Pariwisata Makasar before starting explore Sulawesi..Just suggestion only..
