Japan’s Kuzutsuka Festival – Shrine and Food Stalls

In this video, I will take you to the Kuzutsuka Festival in Toyosaka, a small community in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The Kuzutsuka Festival is held every year from September 6th to 8th to celebrate the harvest and pray for good health and fortune. It is one of the oldest and most traditional festivals in Niigata.

I start at Inari Shrine’s large red torii gate and walk around the shrine grounds. The shrine is decorated with colorful lanterns and streamers, and people are coming here to make offerings and wish for a good harvest.

As I walk around the shrine, I see many stalls selling popular festival foods and offering kids some fun games. I can smell the delicious aroma of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), takoyaki (octopus balls), cotton candy, and other snacks. I also see children playing festival games such as ring toss, fishing for goldfish, and shooting at targets with air guns.

I enjoy the lively atmosphere and the friendly people of Toyosaka. The Kuzutsuka Festival is a great way to experience the culture and history of Niigata. I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something new.
