How can you get free things on your next cruise, and get much more bang for your cruising bucks? I discuss the 6 main areas of cruise freebies that are available, if you go and ask for them or seek them out. They are not things that cruise brochures and websites usually reveal, or talk about. I tell you the things to focus on and how to get as many free things as you possibly can, including drinks, special food, gifts, spa treatments, better and improved cabins and more.

  1. Last time I went with Royal Caribbean there was no shower gel or shampoo in my cabin, only soap supplied. I asked the steward and he provided both.

  2. 3. You can also get free playing cards and sewing kits at guess services. Celebrity gives you cards with their logo on them (free souvenirs). Princess give you generic decks of cards.

  4. It might be safe for most healthy, robust people to drink the tap water onboard, but for people who are a bit sensitive, or tend to get sick easily I would stick to bottled water.

  5. Hi …thanks a lot for such an informative v log…what changes are expected after covid pandemic as lot of cruise liners have stopped functioning……….there are loads of revised guidelines…are we going to enjoy same quality as before covid…I am planning one next year…can u please update …Will be waiting…Great job…thanks again

  6. The raffles are no good and not worth it anymore. Almost all are money off packages now. Cruiselines have wised up and you don't get anything free.

  7. It strikes be as a bit strange that we need to remind folks to be kind to others so we can get something for free. Shouldn't we be kind just for the sake of kindness?

  8. 0:59 My partner's family went on a cruise when he was around 10. His little sister was a SUPER picky eater, and his family was having a hard time getting her to eat. The staff in the main dining area warmed spaghetti-o's for her. I wouldn't count on it happening every time, but your tip reminded me of it!

  9. Many years ago and 10 cruises later,. I had cruised on a Princess ship. I will never take a room over a rock bar. They wouldn't move me and I couldn't wait until the cruise was over. I made a vow to never Princess cruise again.

  10. Enjoy your channel Gary. My wife and I have been sailing for free’ a veranda cabins based on our casino play. We try to gamble 50% of what the cruise would have cost. Do you have insider info on what a comp’d casino player should spend. They seem to have a complicated formula to determining your average daily loss. Thanks again. Cheers

  11. My brother-in-law gets Eggs Benedict every single morning in the main dining room. Is it on the menu? No. They see him come in and know to get it cookin'!

  12. I'm realizing more and more how much Royal Caribbean was nickel-and-diming us on our first cruise. We went for my 30th birthday and got 10 other people to go with us, but we were told no when we asked for a room upgrade once we got onboard, so our friends ended up paying for it, and then our friends had to pay for them to decorate the room too, as a surprise for me. The only thing Royal Caribbean actually did for my birthday was put a candle in my dessert that night in the main dining room.
However, with all that being said, we still had a good time and I am so grateful that my awesome friends were there with me and so eager to make my birthday even more special. It's just a little sad to hear that other cruise lines probably would have done a lot more themselves.

  13. Our cabin steward on our Hawaiian Norwegian cruise never cleaned our cabin. The floor was filthy, the sheets were strong with bleach and he was always on shore excursions. We complained and got a bottle of wine. I wanted my carpet vacuumed.

  14. We found the kitchen has birthday cakes avaiable for a birthay. Sometimes its eadier if mentioned early.

  15. Holland America has the best ice cream station and they will even top it off with Amaretto or Gran Marnier! Delightful! In addition, the food can be rather bland, but the crew was Indonesian for the most part, so I chatted with them about their food and culture and they not only served me specialty Indonesian dishes, but supplied multiple sambals as well! Great times!

  16. I was on NCL Jewel recently. As soon as I noticed my pillow was too soft, I asked the steward for a very firm pillow. I received it within the hour. However, our room refrigerator went on the fritz the second day of a twelve day cruise and it was reported several times without being taken care of. Couldn't find a replacement is what we were told. It wasn't a huge deal though and didn't keep us from enjoying our cruise.

  17. As an expert on cruising, I can tell you that getting free items on a cruise can be difficult, but not impossible. However, we must be aware that these items may not always be of the highest quality.

  18. At 1:29 you show a serving of hachapuri to a table with hinkali – both are the awesome dishes from the country of Georgia. Is it stock footage, or there are really some cruise lines serving it? 🤯
