The Japanese mainly believe in two religions: Buddhism and Shinto. The latter is characterized by a belief in nature.
In Japan, each natural phenomenon – each tree, each river, each rock – is believed to be inhabited by a spirit, which is known here as a Kami.

Meet a Japanese Shinto priest and witness an intimate ceremony in celebration of a Kami. Unlike Buddhist temples in which followers are welcomed, Shinto temples are reserved for priests, so this video is really an exclusive look into the secret world of Shinto temples.

We hope you’ll like it!
