Dinner with Miko & Geiko dance show in Kyoto

MAIKO are girls who are apprenticed to the arts. Once a MAIKO has mastered the art, she becomes known as a GEIKO(=GEISHA). It is a traditional pastime of Kyoto’s high society to invite these maiko and geiko to dinner and have them perform their tricks at Japanese traditional restaurant at Gion. It takes a special connection to invite MAIKO and GEIKO to dinner. The number of MAIKO and GEIKO are decreasing these days, making it increasingly difficult to invite them to dinner.
