The Yokohama Port Symbol Tower was completed in July 1986 in the vast green space of Honmoku Pier D Jetty. The tower is 58.5 meters high, and the Honmoku Ship Traffic Signal Station located below sends information and signals to ensure the safe navigation of passenger ships and cargo ships from all over the world entering and exiting Yokohama Port.
The symbol tower has an observation room and an observation lounge with a panoramic view of the port, where you can observe the workings of the port and the daily life of the port.
In addition, the green park around the tower is open to the public as a place to relax, and the Yokohama Port Symbol Tower Festival, which is held three times a year, includes events such as a flea market, concerts, dance shows, comedy
横浜港シンボルタワーは、本牧埠頭Ｄ突堤の広大な緑地の中に、昭和６１年７月に完成いたしました。タワーの高さは５８.５ｍあり､横浜港に出入りする世界中の客船や貨物船が安全に航行できるよう、階下にある本牧船舶通航信号所より情報や信号を送っています。
シンボルタワーには、港の風景を一望できる展望室や展望ラウンジがあり､港の仕組みや日常の港湾の様子を観察することができます。
また、タワー周辺の緑地公園は､市民の憩いの場として開放されており、年３回開催されている「横浜港シンボルタワー祭り」では、フリーマーケット、コンサート、ダンスショー、お笑いパフォーマンスなどのイベントも行ってるみたいです｡
