ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

D: Maple, our time in Kobe was really amazing, don’t you think?
M: It was absolutely fantastic!
D: We learned that Kobe is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture.
M: Right. It was quite an educational trip.
D: Indeed. We had to go through Kyoto and Osaka on our way to Kobe from Hamamatsu.
M: Today, let’s discuss some of the places we visited this time.
D: Sure.

D: First, we got off at Motomachi Station and explored the area.
M: There were several shopping streets, so I never got bored.

D: Then, we made our way to Meriken Park.
Look, that’s the Kobe Port Tower, one of the most iconic landmarks in the park, and it was under repair.
M: Ya, it will reopen in the spring.
D: It’ll celebrate its 60th anniversary next year.
And that explains why they’re renovating it now.

M: There was a maritime museum there.
D: The museum delves into Kobe’s maritime history and significance. It houses various maritime-related artifacts, exhibits, and interactive displays that offer insights into the city’s history as a port.

M: That place was really beautiful.
D: Totally. Spending time by the sea was so peaceful.

D: Next, we headed to Kitano.
M: Kitano was such a charming and historic neighborhood.
D: It’s renowned for its well-preserved Western-style buildings, picturesque streets, and a unique atmosphere that takes you back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries when Kobe became a major port city.

D: And then, we took a train to Maiko.
M: That’s where we saw the bridge, right?
D: Exactly, and we stumbled upon a lovely cafe while enjoying the view of that spectacular bridge.
M: Yep, it was really cool!

D: Don’t forget about Rokko Island. We explored that too.
M: I remember. It was a residential area surrounded by nature.
D: It was a great place for a leisurely walk, and it was fascinating to see those container ships out at sea.

D: Unfortunately, we didn’t get to explore the mountains this time. I’ve heard you can enjoy breathtaking views from Mt. Rokko.
M: Really? I loved Kobe so much. I’m glad we have a reason to go back!
D: You’re absolutely right.

D: By the way, we traveled to Kobe using local trains with the Seishun 18 ticket.
M: It’s called the Seishun 18 kippu in Japanese.
D: It was really cost-effective, especially if you have plenty of time to spare.
M: Yes, indeed. Maybe we can talk more about how great it is to use that ticket next time!
D: Sounds like a plan.
