We stayed at Iwaso on our honeymoon MANY years ago. We stayed in the most expensive cottage and my husband (Japanese) thinks "Senshin Tei" was our cottage, but we agree that the room looked different than what you have filmed. The FURO was surrounded entirely with stones then and the alcove where the scroll is was at a different wall. Our cottage was the furthest away, just as you have filmed. Iwaso has clearly been renovated over the years. We loved our stay then at the end of September when the leaves were turning into autumn colors. , The food served to us in the cottage was not at all a highlight, nearly all was room temperature, made ahead of time. It appears to be better now. 🙂 Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

May I ask how you think this would be, for someone who knows effectively no Japanese?

For your time
