The Gobi’s Hidden Treasures: Asia’s Largest Desert

The Gobi desert can be above 40 degrees in summer and minus 40 degrees in winter – humans and animals depend on each other to survive.
Deserts are the most haunting of all the Earth’s landscapes. Sometimes we think of them as vast empty spaces that dwarf and test our human spirit. But that view is wrong in so many ways.
They are full of colour and contrast. There are mountains and lagoons among the dunes and plains. They often teem with life and are rich in resources. Their peoples have remarkable qualities of ingenuity and endurance, wisdom and humour – their festivals and gatherings full of colour and energy.

  1. I am so sick and tired of having some small group of people shoving their climate change religion in our faces. Just share information about the place and leave climate change opinions and theories out of it please.

  2. The depraved rich ,army and politicians, collude to dig holes in the earth looking for gold, [our real jewel is the ecosystem that earth provided for us, ] poisoning the system with mercury. What use is gold to us? chopping down our trees. One man started with 20 sheep, then wanted to be rich , increased to thousands, how can that be sustainable? The rich scrape the bed of the ocean, destroying the marine life, making billions for themselves, and their investors. Thousands of homes in London locked up for 11 months of the year, because the rich has homes all over the world, the biggest yacht on the ocean. They call that progress. The poor just take what they need

So disappointed in people who try to show off with these precious animals fur. Doesn’t show anything humane. Just as greedy as a big gold diggers.

  4. Se o dinheiro gerado do projeto for partilhado com o povo da Mongólia todos podem beneficiar do progresso financeiro…… O problema é que isso raramente acontece….. Os ricos ficam mais ricos e os pobres ainda mais pobres……

  5. There’s a few Arch-evil corporations on this planet and RIO TINTO is certainly one of the a biggest. It doesn’t matter if they’re Western, Eastern, whatever. They’re on this planet; they’re Multi-National and THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED. ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHERS OF THEIR KIND

  6. 🇬🇧 WONDERFUL!
I have always been interested in the Gobi Desert area, such a vast & desolate place but also of great beauty.

The language is like nothing ive ever heard before!
It has a Russian part, a kind of
Soft gutteral Dutch sound & a sound unique to its own.

The people are very welcoming & friendly & it was good to hear about individual families like the
Camel Hearder & his brother who worked in the mines & the big differences in their lives but the miner longs for his real home on the Plains like his brothers life even though hes paid 20 times more!

Im devastated to learn that lovely young kind Zoologist whos life was dedicated to the preservation of the beautiful Snow Leopard.
To know he was murdered because he denied the mining companies access to an area he
Conserved to protect the Snow Leopard.

It just goes to show that corruption in big business is everywhere on this Earth!
Also corruption exists in the Law Enforcement & Police who refused to investigate the murder of that young man!!

Corruption is everywhere now on our Earth which saddens me so much, its an evil that spoils every good & natural way of living in balance between man & the natural world.

    But i loved this documentary
    I enjoyed every minute
    Thank you so very much
    Regards
    🇬🇧👧

  7. Where there’s money there will be people who will do anything to get more. Big companies leave a trail of destruction and death behind them, they’re all the same.

  8. Who's protecting the people an native life an Land..of Mongolia??? They need a Gengus Kahn!! To back them up 🙏👑🍃

  9. There's nothing more annoying when the music is louder than the people talking. Can't hear you the music's too loud.

  10. A book well worth reading is "A long walk" by Slavomir Rawicz. He and six others escaped from a Siberian work camp and after meeting up with a girl around Lake Baikal they walked through the Gobi Dessert but sadly only four made it to India. Slavomir Rawicz for four days didn't know if he was Arthur or Martha after he arrived because of the hardships he had been through. Very inspiring book to read.

  11. Sooner than imagined all deserts will disappear. Just look how Israel eliminated its deserts and enjoys more fresh water than needed. In Egypt the organisation SEKEM has transformed deserts for 40 years into green farm / forest land. And everywhere this will slowly continue.

  12. i love some that produce films and videos to do supposed narratives of reality, actually do not know or practice the same. Living on a supposed throne which is an encagement and engagement to lead the blind where they are striving towards. Not knowing. No one wants to go. EVER.

  13. I certainly did not know that wolf saliva will make the meat poisonous in a animal 😹🐘🐄🐮

  14. @40:30 seems Mongolian arithmetic is very different from my maths if 1 is 100, then obviously 100 prayers is 1000 eh? That makes sense, with all great respect from one who has lived with these people lol. Pray for the world my friends. Xxx

  15. VERY STRANGE: A Desert With Snow And Sand. And That's Nothing Else But Only The 'GOBI DESERT' Of The Continental ASIA. A Trans Manchurian And Trans Mongolian Desert Perhaps. OR At Least In My Own View. A Magnificent DESERT With An Exceptionally 'DIVERSE WILD AND VERY DIVERSIFIED DOMESTICATED WILD LIFE'. Happy To Comment After A Tremendously Pleasant Watch And Focused Observation. At Least Twice If Not Thrice. GOD IS THE GREATEST AND THE MOST POWERFUL. Undoubtedly, Beautiful, Scenic, Temperate And Magically Captivating. The Desert Human Life Too Is Pretty Much Different In THE GOBI. Especially, When Comparaed With The All Other Deserts Of The WORLD. Thanks Anyway 'TRACKS' For Sharing The Fine 'GOBI DOCUMENTARY'. Jazzak Allah Khair! May ALLAH (Swt) Bless You All! With All The Due Thanks, Regards And Best Wishes: SNR. (FFP).

  16. They could cook the goat if they used rubber gloves to butcher it. Well cooked would kill any germs and parasites. What a waste. Someone should provide them with surgical gloves. Cavemen stole wolf kills for Millennia.

  17. I’m not sure who I feel more sorry for, the city workers who lost contact with simple life, or those still living the simple light who will eventually be swallowed up.

And all this for better GDP,money money money, gold and copper, just what the world needs and to get it, more motor cars, congestion, fumes, concrete, infrastructure and stress/pressure to people’s lives. Going from being happy and contented almost in their ignorance, to wanting more and more ‘stuff’ they don’t really need. So very sad
