  1. I'm going to be arriving in Japan at the end of this week, and my plan is to deliver my luggage to my hotel, because we decided after our long day of flights that we didn't want to have to commute into the city. We're actually going to stay at ryokan near Narita airport the day we arrive. Then the next day we will go to the hotel we're staying at for that leg of our trip.

  2. Itsumodoori great content Ken-san. Very comprehensive, kore minna tasukaru wa 👏👏

  3. From Nashville, Tennessee. You have a very excellent YouTube channel sir, thank you very much for the work and information that you put into it! My son and I really look forward to our vacation there. Are there any type of motorized tours where tourists can pay a flat fee for daytime or nighttime tour groups to ride and be shown around Tokyo city?

  4. My first 1 hour in Japan: sleep at Haneda airport coz arrived at midnight.

  5. Perfect and thank you very much for your depth detail vdo for new visitor….we always follow you my master….coolsssssss

  6. I arrived yesterday after 44 years. Several trains use the same track. Make sure you use Google maps to get on the right train. It was pretty simple. Traveled from Hanada 😢to Shinjuku with no issues.

  7. Does anybody know a good source for information about hurricanes heading to Japan? Things like when they're spotted, pathing, how likely they are to hit, etc. The only thing I can find are random news stories… I hope there is some national organization that makes keeping up to date on this easy.

  8. The express bus from narita to Tokyo station is the easiest and cheapest way to get to city center. I believe it's also the fastest.

  9. The trains in Japan are very easy to use as all the signs are also in English. We've been using the buses in Kyoto too, so easy and cheap to use, 230yen per trip with all signage in English it's a doddle. Some train stations, shinjuku esp can be a bit confusing but people will always be glad to help. We love it, Japan is a fabulous country. If people are thinking a holiday in Japan is expensive then after the air fare it's very very good value, 5 nights in Osaka for us is £118GBP – a bargain.

  10. Hey Kengo….great video….new subscriber here…! I’m headed back to Tokyo in January after a few years in the US……thanks for your hard work in making these videos 🙂

  11. hey kenchan i have a question if i go to the JR exchange office or booth can i ask them when i wanna activate the JR pass or when you go there they would activate your JR instantly

  12. Nice video focused on things to know when first arriving in Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita and Kansai (KIX). One question: generally, what are the estimated times for morning rush hour and evening rush hour in Japan? Thank you!

  13. Kenchan, I like to go from Narita airport to Asakusa. Can you show some details of the Keisei Sky Access train that stops at Tobu Asakusa Station?

  14. New subscriber here – really appreciate your videos! They’re really informative. We live in Yokosuka but have family visiting and I was wondering about the IC card so thanks! Also your Harry Potter video was a huge help for me before I went a couple weeks ago!

  15. Thank you! The first few hours of the first trip to Japan is the hardest because you are so tired and there’s so much to do in addition to getting through immigration. The flight is 12 hours from San Francisco plus getting to the airport two hours early (recommended for international flights) to get through security. Nice to know there are many transportation choices. I think it will be less stressful the second time. Can you do a video about finding recommended private guides or tours in the less touristy areas? Or a video about travel in less touristy areas and small towns? I think some quiet country places might not have good transportation other than car. I don’t feel confident driving in another country but I would like to see the countryside. Your videos are very helpful!

  16. Ken-San what would be the rush hours in tokyo. we plan to avoid rush hours as much as possible so please let us know as it will be helpful for making out iternery.

  17. In my last trip to Japan in March, there were still all those covid rules, proof of vaccinations and immigration roadblocks! My wait in lines from landing to out of the immigration gate was >1.5 hours. It was 30 hours travel time from Peru to Tokyo and the jet lag, I was so exhausted! Glad that the covid days are all over. Awesome work and informative video, Kengo.

  18. THANK YOU!! I went to Japan in April with the family and am going again next April on my own to do ALL the things I missed…this was very helpful as I will be using a different airport and NO taxi's hahahaha.

  19. Fantastic, on point, very informative! I am traveling to Japan this November, and this video helped me a lot! I watched your videos in the past before, but this one has even more details. I will be landing to Narita Airport in the afternoon, so hopefully going through custom will be quick and easy. I have travel anxiety, but your video definitely helps! Thanks!

  20. Thank you!
I think this was the most useful "1st hour in japan" video I saw so far! Great information!
I'm going to Tokyo in 2 weeks so also very good timing 😉

  21. I had been to Tokyo quite a few times, but this will be the first time after Covid lockdown lifted so this clip is gold! Already flying this Friday and will be arriving at NRT on Saturday morning. Hope there's no typhoon coming in during the next week as I'm going to hike in Kamikochi!

  22. This video is very helpful! Even though my trip in November will be the second time I've visited Japan. This was still so useful and full of good information. Thank you so much. 👍🏾

  23. I really need to start to prepare my trip to come to Japan next May I really need to know what is the best places to stay I will figure things out .I watch a lot of videos to learn. Now I know where to get the Sim card when I arrive at Haneda Airport that was the most important thing I was worried about because here in Canada it cost $20 Canadian just for a half a gig of Internet have a gig of data for Japan. It’s expensive but ¥7000 which is equivalent of $64 Canadian for 30 days unlimited is cheap.

  24. Amazing and very informative video Kengo san. I usually take the tyo nrt bus, but in your past videos i was able to learn the access express 👍 my first hour in narita was spent on the 2nd Floor Gundam store 😎 oh we also have those Hello Kitty Pasmo ❤

  26. Great video! Thank you. I'm arriving in to HND, and the explanation and graphical map were excellent. Most other videos mention a place but don't show you where it is.

  27. Your videos are great and I appreciate the tips. I just booked my wifi, thanks for the code.

  28. So uh.. I got a question here. Suica card still exist until next march 2024 right? What do you think should I get? I am a first timer to japan and was going to plan the finance on tight budget. Maybe enjoy tokyo then kyoto then go back to tokyo again to go home.

Question is .. Should I purchase JR pass or just go with Suica / Passmo? Considering I plan to tour around Tokyo for 1 week and 1 week in kyoto.

  29. Going to Japan for the first time on Oct 3th till 26th, we are so nervous about the whole airport and train system yet so excited since its been years of dreaming about this journey. Thanks for the video!

  30. For the custom clearance, you might be able to shortcut lines if you fill the VisitJapan Web (Might be the same depends on the airport and time of arrival). https://vjw-lp.digital.go.jp/en/ 🚩Please note that Japanese government is warning that there is a fake app. of Visit Japan Web that ask your credit card information. There is no app for VisitJapanWeb.

  31. Ken San.I will arrive Haneda airport but depart from Narita back to spore.Should i get the JR pass or using suica card for my whole week stat in tky only.Going alone

  32. Yes, the VisitJapan Web page for QR codes were a blessing, streamlining the entrance into Japan so smoothly!

When I landed at Haneda late at night, I had already decided to stay at the Villa Fontaine Grand Airport Hotel overnight, rather than try to catch the last monorail into Tokyo. Added bonus; use of the open air Onsen the next morning! Everything was so relaxed this way! Including the eSIM, & the ATM machines!

  33. Thanks for this video, much appreciated. My girlfriend and I will be in Japan for the first time this upcoming October and we cannot wait to come visit!

  34. I used a Portable WiFi router when I was in Japan. It worked fine. Just that having to keep another thing charged and the worry about posting back on last day of trip gave me anxiety….Plus having to carry it added weight and took up space when trying to stay light for sightseeing. Also the return envelope was a problem to carry around on my trip.(large).It got soaked during a rain storm and became almost unusable.(had me panicing abit)…So thinking a data sim would be better(solo traveller). No need for extra charging or carrying extra battery packs or large envelopes or having to return it on last day..BUT!..Not sure how much data I would need!..I only need it for navigation (most of the day everyday for 3 weeks) and a little youtube viewing in the evenings (no social media as I have no friends to be social with)….So I have no idea what to get and where…If I get to little and then run out when I need it most for get me panicing.

  35. What areas of Tokyo or nearby that you recommend for quiet and less crowed near train station. We are not too crazy about busy city areas but will check them out.

We will fly in Narita Airport later in December, and look to say either at a hotel or airbnb. Will stay from Dec 23-30, so less than a week.

Like to visit Kyoto, Osaka, Nikko, Mt. Fuji and will buy JR Pass.

    Thanks
