Itako which is located in Ibaraki prefecture is a small town known for its canals and popular iris festival. This town has flourished as a distribution point which connects the capital Edo(present Tokyo) with Tohoku(north area of Japan) since the Edo period(the Year 1603-1868).
Recently, I went on a two days trip to this town as a project with Itako City(local government office) and Stayway(travel tech company). To be honest, I was not familiar with this town at all before but was really amazed by this historical lagoon city through this trip.
This town surrounded by nature lets you contact with living things, experience unique activities such as a traditional hand boat ride, and also have elaborate local dishes. Also, you can learn Japanese history in the old shrines and temples like the Cho-shoji temple. Moreover, what makes you attracted the most is the warmth of the local people. It was the off-season, but all these experiences made me wanna come back here in June and join in the popular “Suigo Itako Iris Festival”
In this video, I introduce you along with recommended spots and activities, and hope you’ll see the way of enjoying Itako, have fun!

I’m so happy to work with a local government office again. I can’t thank you enough for all your great support!!
Well, it seems that we finally got out of the big third wave in Japan. Although we can’t let the guard down yet, I’m so happy to start traveling again!
Hope you guys stay safe and healthy, peace!
When watching your videos, every now and then I see a shot that really wows me ^^
I really love how you edit and make your videos! Especially all the nature shots and the wide shots. If I ever go to Japan I will make sure to visit Itako! I really want to try baking my own crackers and checking out the sake brewery 🙂
Can't wait to get my work visa. I want to explore Japan 😭
Lovely video! I would like to visit the temple and shrines you showed
This is a great video! The information for each area with the beautiful scenery and people from the area makes you want to visit the area. I must say that eel dish looked delicious! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Awesome cinematography – I like your editing style.
So Good So beautiful 🥰🥰🤩
Your images are breathtaking, really really reaaaally beautiful… I think it would benefit from a bit of voice over that explains what we are looking at instead of just music the whole video… but overall this is really great work!
Beautiful film and amazing message..!!
🌸 I really like how in this video you didn't only focus on the city but also showed its people (I would've loved to hear a couple of the conversations with the locals you met). Nice work!
Honestly, your channel is a gold mine. This is fantastic. I've been meaning to explore your channel for a while, and thanks to your message on Twitter recently, I finally got around to doing it. I also really appreciate that you've added subtitles for Japanese. I will be sure to make use of them for all that they are worth.
If you keep this up, which I'm sure you will, your channel will grow really fast. I'm looking forward to it. Cheers!
awesome videos 🙂 i can't wait to see the day your channel gets the recognition it deserves for your hard work and eye for detail!
Your cinematography is so amazing! I'd love to learn more about your approach to filming and your thought process for capturing everything so beautifully.
I’ll be moving to Itako City in 3 weeks!! This video has made me VERY excited. It looks beautiful!
