When i first moved to tokyo my credit card didn't arrive in time so I had my old roommate in Germany ship it to me and it took over a month so I activated it and send myself money with it online via western Union because I had no money left on my bank account ๐ฅฒ

Visa Mastercard Debit works worldwide even in Japan. One time i dont have money as early grad student, i beg my close friend back home to transfer money to my VISA bank account..there is a fee for overseas withdrawal..but you got to do what you have todo to survive and just lived with it.
