Hidden Torah Scroll in Iran: A Piece of Jewish History Rediscovered
The discovery occurred accidentally in 1991.
The city of Ecbatana was recently registered in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites, as an ancient city with many amazing items from Median and Persian empires.
Now, this valuable part of the Torah is telling us about the story of the Jews leaving Egypt with Prophet Moses leading them.
It is written on the leather of sheep in ancient Hebrew, so perfectly made and stick together, it is assumed that it actually contained the complete Torah, but the rest has not remained intact.
Right now it’s kept in the Hegmataneh museum in Hamedan in Iran.
That is an amazing discovery! It is incredible to think that a piece of the Torah has been found in such an ancient city. The fact that it is written in ancient Hebrew is also significant, as it suggests that it is a very old and valuable document.
It is unfortunate that the rest of the Torah has not been found, but the discovery of this fragment is still a significant find. It provides us with a glimpse into the history of the Jewish people and their faith.
I am glad that the Torah fragment is being kept in the Hegmataneh museum in Hamedan. This will allow it to be preserved and studied by scholars and researchers. It is also important that the Torah fragment is accessible to the public, so that everyone can learn about its significance.
So what do you think?!
