About ART WE THERE YET 🚌🌎
Art We There Yet is a project co-created by artist José Luis Vílchez and songwriter Cora Rose. Our mission is to create art inspired by the Americas, and to give back to communities along the way. Aboard a school bus converted into an art and recording studio (a tiny house skoolie bus conversion), we are traveling 30,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina, touching 23 countries of the Americas over 7+ years! We create art and music that highlight the beautiful people and landscapes of the Americas. And we provide murals and workshops in schools and communities that lack access to arts funding. Because ART is meant to be SHARED! ❀️🎨🚌🎼❀️

  1. Drove the Alaska Highway 4 times over 30 years of living in Alaska. I have taken the eastern, middle and western routes.
2 of those runs were in converted schoolies.
    Favorite spot: Liard Hot Springs.

  2. Sorry if this is a silly question but I'm wondering whether you carry onboard your skoolie extra cans of gas? I haven't seen any gas stations/fill ups during this Alaska series and since I'd like to do similar drive myself next spring I want to make sure I don't run out of gas (my skoolie is a mini/23 feet, not full-sized like yours). LOVE this Alaska series btw….so well done!

  3. I have made the drive from Maine to Alaska, in both directions a total of 3 times. The first being in 1981. Beautiful trip. Great video!

  4. I really hope your channel grows, but I enjoy watching without all of the commercials that YouTube tends to throw into the more popular channels.

  5. Just wow all I can say what month did you guys leave? To start you journey and back I would rather do fall trip

  6. Hi JosΓ© and Cora, thanks for another great vlog of that amazing highway and beautiful time of year. Autumn is always colourful and you certainly captured that. I wish you both continured safe travels.

  7. I grew up in Alaska and have driven the Alcan 5 times. It really is beautiful.
Were you traveling in two vehicles, who was in the Toyota?
    I love the bus.
    Great videos. 😊
    Are you still in Alaska?

  8. This brings back memories. My wife and I drove this road a half dozen times between 1972 and 1982. Also being an artist and musician, the road inspires many things. I did a beautiful painting of Kluane Lake. I don't miss the mosquitoes however. The first time driving it there was 900 miles of unpaved dirt.

  9. another beautiful video and oh my goodness what a beautiful singing voice you have I would love to hear more of that❀

  10. This video is pure gold! I can't get enough of it. The content is absolutely captivating, and the execution is flawless. 13. You do the AlCan justice with these videos. It's just incredible. Also, that song you teased is absolutely amazing and so well produced and sung! So happy to have found your channel as I'm about to do my first 14'er mountain in Colorado. The vibe just fits

  14. awesome guys the filming and the narration are lovely. if i had the money i wouldn't mind going off the grid 5-star style in the Yukon

  15. So many memories! My best friend and I did the entire Alcan on bikes in 2010. Ft Nelson, Liard Hot Springs, the sign forest, just brought back memory after memory! Muncho Lake, Whitehorse. And I'm so happy you covered the role Black Americans in this epic project. Thanks for the memories!

  16. The Alaska highway is one of those incredible road trips you can take.. great work guys..
Another trip you should take is the Dempster highway all the way to tuktoyaktuk.. absolutely incredible, wild highway.

  17. Thank you so much for this amazing piece of video art! Once again your fine commentary and beautiful video work has made a masterpiece. Although I live in the foothills of Mt. Rainier in Washington State my heart jumps whenever I visit Alaska…your music is so complimentary to your narrative and is so much appreciated by this 74 year old singer/songwriter…I feel blessed by it. Please know that you have a fan forever living his best life in the mountains and enjoying your Art!

  18. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just came from Banff, but love to travel with you to Alaska! You made it but I felt so happy and so excited like I made it there together with you! The journey is going on! Looking forward to explore Alaska with you till my feet will hit its ground in real time next year, fingers crossed! You guys are absolutely amazing humans! Love from Minnesotan Ukrainian heart!❀
