Osakikamijima, situated in Hiroshima Prefecture and adjacent to Shimanami Kaido, is a serene island in the Seto Inland Sea. It can be conveniently reached from Takehara City via ferry. Although the island was previously thriving due to its shipbuilding industry, it is not immune to the population decline in rural Japan. To address this issue, the local government has taken proactive measures to encourage people to move to the town. These efforts include facilitating property sales, offering affordable temporary housing, and establishing a distinctive international school.
