MINOJI BASE for Traditional/Contemporary Japanese Cultures.

This video is about Kamiyui (髪結い) , which means “making Japanese traditional hairstyle (日本髪).” This hairstyle is especially called Nage-Shimada (投げ島田) in Japanese. The topknots were, as you can see in the video, tied with the lower root of the hair and then turned backward. This was the style favored by prostitutes (遊女) and was especially popular around the Genroku period (1688-1704).

We are planning to welcome travelers from all over the world and making private plan to look around Japanese historical but ordinary houses, taste Japanese tea, experience Kabuki make-up and this traditional hairstyle, and watch the private stage of Tokiwazu Tsunaho.

If you are considering Japan travel, MINOJI BASE is the best choice to experienceTraditional/Contemporary Japanese Cultures.
