On this occasion, I went on a drive to Tsukuba City, located in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. While enjoying clear skies, I explored the city with the majestic Mount Tsukuba in the background, often referred to as “Fuji of the West, Tsukuba of the East,” drawing comparisons to Mount Fuji.
Tsukuba City is also renowned as an “Academic Research City,” with a concentration of research facilities and universities spanning various disciplines. The grandeur of Mount Tsukuba and the organized layout of the academic city combine to create a unique and captivating atmosphere.
今回は、茨城県の南部に位置する「つくば市」をドライブ。「西の富士、東の筑波」と富士山と対比されるほどの名峰”筑波山”を望みながら、快晴の中市内を走り回りました。つくば市と言えば他にも”学術研究都市”としても有名で、多ジャンルの研究施設や大学が集中しています。筑波山の雄大さと学園都市としての整然さがドッキングしたどこか独特の雰囲気をお楽しみください。
