Riding JR’s night bus “Grand Dream” is about half the price of the “Shinkansen” (¥7260/$50.1/€46). Since the bus arrives at the destination early in the morning, hotel expenses can be saved! The bus was comfortable with three rows of independent seats, separated from the seat next to you by a curtain.
One thing to note is that the bus is well air-conditioned, so you need a blanket or jacket, and the inside of the bus is dry, so it is easy to get thirsty. I thought the night bus was a good use of travel time and one of the most cost-effective and enjoyable means of transportation.
