  1. Doug any chance of you scheduling a meet and greet of subscribers before you leave KL,I will be in KL for the next couple of weeks ,here from the states.I was hoping to run into you in PUDU.

  2. So the software fills up the selfie stick image with its own constructs in video??? (Very serious ferociously furious computation going on in the processors to graft images from elsewhere in the frame and grafting on the selfie stick image patch- if thats so)

  3. The best guide for ethnic tours – sounds , sights and fragrances included. Great going Doug !

  4. Just a quick note thank you 4 the video. I am stuck here in my Meijer in Canada. A meet-and-greet would be nice that's impossible for me. Perhaps you could find the cool spot Or coffee shop that is not too busy and tell us about your plans and on your dreams for the future. So that's like the Fireside Chat like you used to do when you were stuck in Mae Sot. I enjoyed those. Like learning about showed any childhood in Canada. Sorry about strange spelling mistakes I am using voice typing because of the Parkies. Again thank you very much for the video 😊 and for using the 360 camera, it is extra work for you to do the editing, Heidi

  5. Thanks for showing another enclave of the traditional Indian business community in Lebuh Ampang, close to Masjid India area. There is another smaller enclave of the Indian business community near the 3 1/2 miles, Ipoh Road area near Sentul in KL. Brickfields or Little India is the well-known major Indian business area of KL.

Doug, if you are in KL on November 11, 2023 you should head to Jalan Tengku Klana in Klang after 10.00 p m to witness the very crowded stretch of shops doing brisk business in the last minute shopping for Deepavali, which is celebrated on Sunday November 12. The shops remain open till the break of dawn. The crowd of shoppers and revellers is less than the Thaipusam crowd in KL, but it is no less huge.

  6. @4:43 – in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei – The "Hj." is a short form of "Haji" (pronounced "Hudgie"). Whenever you see "Hj." before a person's name, it means that the person has performed the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca (AKA the "Hajj")… so in these countries, you will often see names starting with Hj. – eg: Hj.Taib (Haji Taib), Hj.Salleh (Haji Salleh)… for females it is "Hjh." (pronouced "Hudgiah"….

  7. 🕘 Time 21:18 Chetty community house – 💁‍♂️ On your left side the closed shophouse with yellow door and windows is a Chetty (Chettiars) moneylenders community house.
🥸 There were a few more of these Indian moneylenders houses alongside this Leboh Ampang street in the early days when there weren't many financial services options. This street was the Tamil Indian financial district.
🥸 In those days when the house was opened, In the hall had roll of Chettiars setup their office of simple small low table with thick big hardcover foolscap record book and sitting cross-legged on the traditional glazed ceramic tiles floor conduct their moneylanding businesses.
🥸 The old Chetty house has a typical architecture of a large front door with 2 large windows on either side.
    👉 Examples: Time 14:52, 19:19, 19:25 & 21:31.

  8. Hello from CA & many thanks 4 great video on Indian area in KL! You are amazing walking around in the heat!

  9. We call that area as LA…no..no.. not Los Angeles but Lebuh Ampang . My past favorite place to hangout is Eleven LA. Some people call that place as Chetty town.

  10. Greater KL or Klang Valley or Metro KL encompassing KL/Selangor with 15 mil pop have more than 100 subcities. Damansara area alone got more than 30 super modern subcities. To explore all these by barely walking take years to finish. Pls xplore n enjoy the uniquess of Klang Valley!!

  11. Great tour with good suggestions for a whole morning program in this part of town great narratives of places most interesting 😊

  12. Love the Little Indias in cities I visit. I always look for fresh fruits on my trips and it’s often in Little India where I find them best.
